“seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3
Not to trivialize this grand passage, but with techno gadgets these days normally come instructions in a very thick manual. As you read you discover more and more things that the device can do, and you marvel. Here Peter unfolds all that God has done for us as we have come to truly know him. This education does not cease, but what he has done for us (salvation) has been fully accomplished by his grace.
