For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; He will save us. Isaiah 33:22
Perhaps there is nothing better than to personalize and often quote this verse in my head!
“For the Lord is my judge, the Lord is my lawgiver, the Lord is my king; He will save me.”
Only he decides whether I’m right or wrong. Only he has given me the laws by which I am to live in his Word. Only he is my God and King. By accepting his decisions, by adhering to his law (the “law of liberty,” James 2:12), by allegiance to his sovereign rule in my life, I will be saved.
We, of course, are inclined to justify our own actions, write our own rules, and manage our own affairs–thank you. But here are the realities of going our own way.
Your tackle hangs slack; it cannot hold the base of its mast firmly, nor spread out the sail. Then the prey of an abundant spoil will be divided; The lame will take the plunder. Isaiah 33:23
Instituting this godly habit of deflecting all life’s concerns to my judge, my lawgiver, my king, and my savior is as close as we can get to heaven on earth.
Your eyes will see the King in His beauty; they will behold a far-distant land. Isaiah 33:17
