13 “But now I come to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves. 14 I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.” John 17:13-14
There is a concerted effort afoot to cleanse America of Christian influence. Our country is no longer a safe haven for believers who propagate the truth and gather together to worship. Such hostility was subtle before but is now in the open. The battlefield is in the realm of words, for now.
We are compelled to use only certain approved words to describe the outward manifestations of a fallen world. To modify or adapt our speech to obtain approval and acceptance of the world will not please God. We are on a collision course. He calls a spade a spade.
He sent his Son to bring joy to this world. It is found in his Book. The world does not want such joy, hates it, and hates those in whom it resides.
The problem for those mounting efforts to stop the spread is the immortality of its propagators who have been transferred from darkness to light, assigned to roam the globe for only a season. Their marching orders are clear in the Word and their names cannot be erased from the Book of Life.
13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. Colossians 1:13–14
9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. 1 Peter 2:9
If the Son died for these Words, there is a chance we may too. His men did, and many after them. Suffice it to say the effort to silence God and his Word is futile and ill advised. The Lord will ultimately exact His pound of flesh. Knowing this, we have hope.
24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life. John 5:24
Christians, there will come a day when it will be impossible to avoid declaring your allegiance. You may skate freely for now, but the walls are closing in. Prepare with generous time in the Word and prayer. Be encouraged that you’ve already been prayed over by the Lord himself a short time before he was arrested and stood before false accusers (John 17). He has been there, done that.
