16 Now may our Lord Jesus Christ Himself and God our Father, who has loved us and given us eternal comfort and good hope by grace, 17 comfort and strengthen your hearts in every good work and word. 2 Thessalonians 2:16–17
Not only are we comforted and strengthened by our glorious future, but in the present, for God and his son Jesus are our very present help in times of trouble.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46:1
Our comfort (parakaleo) emanates from God’s spirit coming to our side to strengthen or establish (sterizo) us in everything we say or do.
We should have an earpiece connected to the Godhead at all times, telling us of the “good hope by grace” in which we stand.
1 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1–2
